"What's the best exercise to help me lose fat?"
People always ask this question,
What's the best exercise to lose fat from... insert body part,
Or, what should I be doing in the gym?
Then when they ask about diet, "what should I be eating to help me shift my belly fat?"
"What should I be eating?"
"Should I be having carbs?"
My eyes roll and my head sinks into my hands,
When they as questions like this, it makes me realise 2 things:
1. How much bad information is actually out there, if people are that confused as to what they should be doing and how they should be eating to lose weight and get in shape,
2. I've got a lot of work to do if I'm to help more people get in shape,
Because everyone's missing the point,
They're that confused they're missing the point completely,
It's not about doing individual things,
Training a certain way, or following a certain diet,
There are a few principles to adhere to,
There are a few things that make things easier for,
But you can pretty much do whatever works best for you,
As long as you're maintaining a calorie deficit, you're going to lose weight... and therefore fat,
Yes lifting weights, doing some higher intensity conditioning circuits. eating more protein and loads of veggies (and fibre), can help to increase calorie expenditure and allow you to eat more food for fewer calories,
But how you go about achieving that is up to you,
That's where I come in,
Deep down, people already know that if they eat more salads and less takeaways, they're going to lose weight and get in shape,
I just help them find the best way of achieving that for them for them,
Give them a direction and a plan for when they go in the gym,
Then hold them accountable to doing these things on a day to day basis,
